CO Advisory Group on Counseling (COAGC)

Chancellor's Office Advisory Group on Counseling (COAGC)

The Chancellor's Office Advisory Group on Counseling seeks to facilitate positive student outcomes by identifying and disseminating innovative and cost-effective counseling strategies, tools and models to assist colleges with meeting the high student demand for counseling.  In addition, the COAGC serves as a forum to help the Chancellor’s Office in its efforts to seek sufficient funding to address the counseling needs of community college students.  The committee is made up of counselors selected by the CCC Statewide Academic Senate with counseling experience in various CCC student service programs including EOPS, academic counseling, non-credit, ESL, transfer, Puente and other programs.  The committee also includes representatives of students, counseling deans and chief student services officers as well as representatives or ad hoc presentations on transfer, mental health, veterans, educational technology issues.  Meetings generally take place on a quarterly basis.
